Top Running Accessories

There are so many important running accessories, from the cold-weather running gear to sneakers to GPS watches. One running accessory is of utmost importance, according to Jennifer Heiner-Pisano, is one that can carry your cell phone, gels/fuel, ID, key, and any other essentials you want to carry when you venture out from home.
There are so many of these waist packs that are on the market, and some of my favorites are: The Tube; Flip Belt, Spi Belt. These accessories can hold all of the important things that you need while out for your run. Phones are important to carry, whether or not you listen to music on your run, as they can be helpful to have in the event of an emergency. Fuel such as gels are necessary for longer runs, and carrying a chapstick or your ID or keys to your house or car all need to come along for the ride as well. These accessories will all allow you to carry those items and be comfortable to wear without impeding your run or training.
The Tube is my favorite, as it is wide enough to fit all of your accessories, and stays on your waist without riding up or down. There are also two zippered pockets that prevent any of your essentials from falling out during your run.
The Flip Belt is probably one of the more popular and well known items when it comes to accessory holders. These belts have several openings where you can stash your essentials, and then you flip the belt inside out so the items are secure. Some models also have additional holders where you can affix a small water bottle so you can also carry hands-free hydration or liquid fuel on your runs.
The Spi Belt is more of a classic style, with an adjustable band and clip in the back, and one large zippered pocket in the front where you can place all of the things you don’t need access to during your run. There are additional loops and tabs on the band where you can attach fuel that you can easily access during your run when needed.
Regardless of which accessory you choose, all of these models (and there are many more out on the market) will provide comfortable, hands free, convenient ways to carry all of your must haves on your next run, hike, or any adventure you desire.
