A retail sales director, Jennifer Heiner-Pisano oversees daily operations for four branches of a growing New Jersey based running company. In her free time, Jennifer Heiner-Pisano enjoys running and training as a member of the New York Road Runners.

New York Road Runners (NYRR) is the largest non-profit running organization in the United States, and aims to improve both individual lives and communities through running. NYRR sponsors some of the country’s largest races, including the New York City Marathon. The COVID19 pandemic has certainly curtailed the scope and frequency of NYRR’s races during the calendar year, but they have plans in place to start expanding their offering’s in 2021.

While the larger races, including the New York Half and the Brooklyn Half have already been cancelled, NYRR is planning on launching a 5 Borough Series where they will be hosting a one mile race in each of the city’s five boroughs with limited capacity, social distancing guidelines, and waves with limited capacity of runners. The emergence of the COVID vaccinations from Pfizer and Moderna have encouraged race directors all across the country that larger scale races will be once again a reality in the future.
