Jennifer Heiner is the former retail director of a company that designs high-end performance apparel for athletes of all ability levels. In her free time, Jennifer Heiner enjoys running, swimming, and strength training. She has completed six marathons, and belongs to the New York Road Runners. Based in New York City, the New York Road Runners (NYRR) is a nonprofit organization devoted to helping and inspiring people through running while also focusing on making an impact on the community. NYRR runners raise money for different causes, and in 2018 the organization raised $45 million for charity.

The NYRR also relies on volunteers to assist with events. Like members, volunteers benefit from a variety of perks, such as front-row seats at races, connection with the running community, and a rewards program that earns points toward a guaranteed entry into the New York City Marathon. For more information on becoming a member or a volunteer, visit www.nyrr.org.

One of the most memorable of the NYRR races is the Resolution Run, which kicks off at 5 minutes to midnight every December 31st, welcoming participants into the New Year with a 4 mile course through Central Park, as the night sky is lit up with celebratory fireworks.

Starting off the New Year with a run, joined by thousands of other participants, is always a great way to kick off the New Year in a healthy enjoyable way.

Here is to 2022, and may all of you meet your fitness and running goals!
